After work started, i was introduced to a number of restaurants which serve decent food of various cuisines. The most recent one i went to was at OCBC Centre – Beng Thin Hoon Kee Restaurant.
Located on the 5th level of the building, who would have imagined a restaurant sitting at the side of a carpark. The group of colleagues pointed out the possibility of a driver losing control of his vehicle and ramming straight into the restaurant. What’s more, the air pollutants from the engines of the vehicles contaminating the food… Didn’t the management consider the undesirable consequences of housing a restaurant at a carpark?
Nonetheless, dinner was pretty good. The Hokkien restaurant, notably one of the best in Singapore, was crowded with people on the last day of the Lunar New Year. Every table started with lou hei. My table was no exception as well. The yusheng was good! My fifth this year. Haha..
In addition to yusheng, we ordered Hokkien mee, Hokkien bee hoon, roasted chicken and ngoh hiong. Since i’m a Hokkien, the food suited my palate.
However, in comparison to the Beng Hiang restaurant which i visited a few days before this, i still preferred Beng Hiang.
Ambience: 7/10
Food: 7.5/10
Service: 6/10 (It took us multiple attempts to get the service crew’s attention.)
Price: 6.5/10 (For the food we ordered, the bill totaled up to $160. Pretty pricey.)
