I haven’t enjoyed myself so much during session for a long time. I felt a little detached from sessions after Joanne was arranged to have new volunteers. Honestly, i’m thankful that Joanne has regular volunteers to take care of her. It signalled the time for me to move on to taking care of other trainees. Yet, i still feel more comfortable with Joanne after being with her for more than 2 years. Quite ironic but the emotional attachment is difficult to let go.
Every week, seeing how slowly Joanne responds and moves makes me aware of her deteriorating health. Age plays a part but i still feel saddened by the drastic change in her from the day i knew her. Life cycle is a vicious reminder of reality.
Oh wells, there isn’t much i can do except making her Saturdays happy and enjoyable. I’m pretty sure she is from the little actions she does :) I’m really glad to have known Joanne and her family.
With session done for the day, the usual group of us had dinner at Causeway Point’s Hot Tomato. Hmmm.. I would just comment that the restaurant located next to it serves better Western food at an affordable price.
Thereafter, we split into two groups. A group of us headed to Yishun Safra for bowling while the other remained in Causeway Point for coffee and chit chat.
While awaiting for an unoccupied bowling lane, Eric, XX, KK, JS and i walked over to KTPH. BY, Kok kok and FFL stayed on to watch one of the highlights of EPL – Manchester United vs Liverpool. The former won with a narrow scoreline of 2-1 which placed them at the top of the table.
On our way, we spotted a large telescope accompanied with various sophisticated equipment for star gazing purposes. XX gave us several insights on astronomy which was really fascinating. To me, she knew so much! It was then that i realise i had so many misconceptions about the greater universe. Haha..
Anyway, our intention to visit KTPH was a strange one. Eric was curious about this green hospital in Singapore and so we decided to visit it. We looked totally out of place in there. And there was an eerie moment where the automatic doors opened on their own. Hahaha!
Back at Safra, we were given an empty bowling lane after much waiting. Bowling was fun! The last i played was at MYG Interproject Bowling Competition. Given that we are not professional keglers, the scores we attained were pretty decent. FFL, try harder! Hahaha! Kok kok emerged as the overall champion in our group. Woots~ Dark horse KK was secretly good, attaining a fairly decent score. XX was the slow-and-steady-wins-the-race kind. BY was the experimenter; trying out all sorts of patterns and balls. His attempt to bowl the 14-pounder nearly flew off. Haha! JS was the most improved player. His score doubled in the scond game. Fun fun fun :)
By that time, it was near 1.00am. I was dead beat and took a long walk home from Yishun Safra. Nice night stroll :)
